How much does Botox cost for a gummy smile?

Both Botox and Dysport can be used to successfully treat a gummy smile or a smile that exposes too much of the gum above the upper teeth.  This is done by placing the product in the levator labii superioris muscle, which elevated the upper lip.  This muscle is just to the side of the nose and can be treated quite successfully with either product.  The total cost would depend on how much Botox or Dysport is used, but typically only a small amount of necessary and therefore the cost should be quite low if performed exclusively.  More commonly, I am treating the gummy smile along with areas such as the glabella or region between the eyebrows and/or the forehead region and/or the crow’s feet region.  Frequently when the gummy smile or levator labii superioris is treated in conjunction with these other areas, I will perform the treatment to the gummy smile at no additional cost.  At the time of this blog, if a gummy smile was treated exclusively, I would typically charge $200.00.
