Dr. Daniel Butz of Quintessa Discussing Breast Revision Surgery
Dr. Daniel Butz
I see a lot of patients coming in 20 years after having a breast augmentation and things continue to change as we age. Either they’ve had weight gain, weight loss, they’ve breastfed. The implant can be stable but the breast shape around it can change. So breast revision surgery can really be done to address a number of different issues. The most common reason to have a breast revision is typically actually to go larger and increase the breast implant size. There’s other options to lift up the tissue around the breast if it’s kind of started to droop with time, with age. Or some patients will decide that they won’t want to have the implant anymore, to have that implant removed. And then the options after that, you can have nothing replaced, you can do a breast lift, or you can use your own fat tissue to kind of help increase the size of the breast.
So breast revision surgery comes in a lot of different shapes and sizes depending on what the issue is. So the best option is really to come in and talk to me about what is concerning you and then we could address that problem specifically to help you achieve your goals and provide you with a good long-lasting result.
