Dr. Daniel Butz of Quintessa Discussing How To Fix Inverted Nipples
Dr. Daniel Butz
A lot of patients come in asking about inverted nipples and what causes it and if they can fix it. It’s a very common source of anxiety or self-consciousness for many patients. And the issue itself is a congenital problem. It’s not anything that needs to be fixed, but for many patients, it does bother them.
The procedure itself is quite straightforward. You come down into the office under local anesthesia and essentially involves releasing the tethering bands that are causing the problem. So it’s a relatively quick and efficient treatment, long lasting. Patients are very satisfied afterwards that they kind of have either improved symmetry, because it’s only on one side, or just gives them the appearance that they’re looking for so they’re very happy with that.
