Dr. Daniel Butz of Quintessa Discussing Male Breast Reduction
Dr. Daniel Butz
Male breast development is a very common issue, and a lot of males are very reluctant to come seek help for it. But they are very insecure about their breasts, and don’t want to take off their shirts, or go to the gym. It really limits the kind of activities they are able to do confidently. But breast reduction surgery for men has really increased over the last number of years, and it’s a very effective way to improve the overall chest shape, and remove that extra tissue that’s developed. It’s typically is not a medical-concerning issue, it’s typically not cancer, things like that to worry about. This helps improve the overall shape and size of the chest, to give them more masculine figure, so they can confidently go to the gym, and take the shirt off, and not feel insecure about their appearance.
After my male patients have breast reduction surgery, it’s really rewarding to see how confident they feel going out, and doing the things they want to do. Whether it be going to the gym, swimming, or outdoor activities. It really does improve their overall self-confidence. It’s really powerful to see a young male in high school that’s had this issue, and been made fun of, to have the surgery and correct it, and then allow them to kind of go on and participate in sports, and do the things that they really want to do.
