CoolTone or Emsculpt? Compare Your Muscle Toning Treatments
There are many different non-surgical body contouring treatments available, and two of the most popular are CoolTone and Emsculpt. Both are FDA-approved and produce the desired results.
Both CoolTone and Emsculpt focus on building muscles, but there are minor differences to be aware of. If you are wondering whether CoolTone or Emsculpt is better for you, continue reading below about the similarities and differences between CoolTone and Emsculpt.
How Are CoolTone & Emsculpt Treatments Similar?
Both treatments stimulate the muscles to make them firmer and toned. Each treatment lasts 30 minutes and induces around 20,000 contractions per session. Whichever one you choose, both treatments are noninvasive, and you will experience little to no muscle soreness afterward. Both are FDA-approved for the buttocks, abdomen, and thighs.
What Makes Emsculpt and CoolTone Different?
When looking at how both treatments work with the body, CoolTone and Emsculpt are similar. However, Emsculpt uses high-intensity, focused electromagnetic energy (HIFEM) to contour your target area, while CoolTone uses magnetic muscle stimulation (MMS). CoolTone is more intense and delivers about 50% more magnetic intensity, which could lead to desired results more quickly.

Does CoolSculpting Work on Arms?
CoolSculpting works on both the upper arms and the under arms. Today we are showing you how the CoolAdvantage™ applicator by CoolSculpting® is applied to the underarms to reduce that trouble area of fat that is so difficult to get rid of. This procedure took just 35 minutes. Results will begin to show between 1 to 3 months.
How Does Quintessa Treat and Assess Love Handles (Flanks) with CoolSculpting?
The love handles (flanks) are a very common CoolSculpting target area for women seeking a true hourglass shape. Exercise, dieting, and different outfit choices can only do so much to conceal the excess fat stored in this area. Treating the flanks with CoolSculpting can help you achieve the slimmer look you’ve always wanted, permanently freezing unwanted fat cells along the way.
In such instances, we use two different CoolCurve+ applicator pieces to eliminate excess muffin top tissue that spills over the patient’s pant line. Each applicator is placed along the love handle area, starting where the fat ends near the spine and all the way to the front, where it ends at the hip.
With both CoolSculpting applicators covering the entire flank area, we’re then able to freeze off targeted fat cells, which results in a more trimmed-down, hourglass shape that maintains curvy contours without excess fat.

Choosing the Right Body Contouring Treatment for Your Goals
With so many non-surgical body contouring treatments available, it’s important to understand the differences between muscle-toning procedures like CoolTone and Emsculpt and fat-reduction treatments like CoolSculpting. CoolTone and Emsculpt effectively strengthen and tone muscles, while CoolSculpting specifically targets stubborn fat deposits in areas like the arms, flanks (love handles), and abdomen.
CoolTone and Emsculpt deliver impressive results through advanced muscle stimulation if you want to enhance muscle definition and firmness. However, if you aim to reduce unwanted fat in specific areas, CoolSculpting may be the better choice, especially for love handles and underarms.
