For many women, breast augmentation surgery is less about how your clothes fit and more about self-esteem and body image. You deserve to feel “normal” in your everyday life and a big part of that is wanting important parts of your body to feel right.
The way you imagine yourself, happy and confident, should match how you see yourself on the outside. You have options for breast augmentation surgery in Wisconsin, too. Quintessa has five offices in the greater Milwaukee and Madison areas.
Breast augmentation surgery is the most popular plastic surgery procedure, with over 300,000 performed every year. There are a number of different options to consider with various pros and cons — Dr. Daniel Butz will review this in detail to provide a customized solution to help achieve your goals. We offer both saline and silicone implants and will help you determine what will give you the look you’re looking for. If you are more interested in an all-natural augmentation, fat grafting can also be an option.
About Breast Augmentation
During the consultation process, you will meet with Dr. Butz, one of the best breast augmentation surgeons in Wisconsin, who will provide you with all the information you’ll need to consider during this procedure, listening carefully to your specific needs. He will then assess your unique situation and allow you to test different implant sizes in order to find the perfect match for you.
Breast enhancement surgery can involve a standard augmentation or a combination approach depending on your needs and goals.
Quintessa provides the following combination procedures:
The breast augmentation surgery with lift procedure is the perfect enhancement for sagging breasts and patients looking to treat low natural nipple placement.
In addition, we also provide a fat transfer breast augmentation surgery which is a popular choice among patients who are looking for a smaller enhancement and would like to benefit from liposuction as well.
With the expertise of Dr. Butz, we will ensure the procedure meets your goals as closely as possible.

What can I expect during my Breast Augmentation Surgery?
As with any procedure, you should stop any medication or supplements that are not essential for 10-14 days prior to decrease your risk of bleeding complications. Please refer to your list of medications to avoid and always check with your doctor prior to stopping medications.
There are several different techniques and options available for breast augmentation surgery. Our doctors will discuss your goals and preferences and help you decide what the best option is for you. There are two main categories of breast implants: saline and silicone. The pros and cons of each will be extensively reviewed and you will have an opportunity to feel and see them during your consultation.
Silicone implants come in several different varieties depending on how “cohesive” they are. Sometimes people refer to the highly cohesive implants as the “Gummy Bear” implants. Silicone implants tend to feel and look more natural but are more expensive and more difficult to detect rupture.
Saline implants are filled with saline (saltwater) at the time of the surgery and can be tailored more specifically. However, saline tend to be firmer and require more breast tissue to ensure they appear natural.
There are two commonly used incision site options, peri-areolar and inframammary fold. Both incisions can be used to place the implant above or below the muscle.
What can I expect after my Breast Augmentation Surgery?
After the breast augmentation surgery, you can expect to take pain medicine for 1-3 days and then over-the-counter pain relievers for another 1-3 days. However, some patients may need no pain medicine at all.
It is normal to feel a slightly uncomfortable sense of tightness or swelling around the breast area, but most patients report that this feeling goes away within a week.
You will be placed in a bra at the end of the procedure. You may remove this and shower after 24 hours. It’s important to use a gentile compression bra during the first 1-2 weeks and stronger bra support when you start doing activities for the first 3 months.
You should avoid underwire bras for at least 6 weeks. You may have some numbness and hypersensitivity of the breast. This is normal and will improve with time. You should avoid rigorous exercise for at least 2 weeks but we encourage you to be up and walking several times throughout the day.
Average recovery time is 5-7 days.

No, intense pulsed light treatments on the skin should not be able to damage silicone breast implants. That being said, there are risks if the implant was directly under the skin (like those who have had a complete mastectomy with silicone implant reconstruction, with extraordinarily thin subcutaneous fat volume).

It’s been the number one procedure since 2006.
