Non-invasive body sculpting techniques continue to become more technologically advanced—delivering consistent results with little to no downtime.
When it comes to non-surgical fat freezing and muscle building, there are no two procedures more effective than CoolSculpting and EMSculpt or CoolTone. Let’s explore how these procedures compare and contrast in more detail.
What Is The Difference Between CoolSculpting and EMSculpt?
Both types of treatments are non-surgical but ultimately differ in how they sculpt the body.
While CoolSculpting is strictly a non-invasive fat reduction treatment, EMSculpt/CoolTone is a non-invasive treatment specifically designed to induce powerful muscle contractions. Using High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology, EMSculpt helps tone muscle with a 16% increase in muscle mass on average.
CoolSculpting also has favorable results, but they simply show in a different way. CoolSculpting patients can expect permanent results that reduce about 20-25% of fat cells in the treated area.
How Does CoolSculpting and EMSculpt Work?
CoolSculpting freezes fat cells to death and they leave the body naturally over a course of 1-4 months. Rather than freezing fat, EMSculpt uses HIFEM technology to burn fat and contract the muscles in the treated area to enhance muscle mass. CoolTone generates a magnetic field that creates a current when it passes through a conductive material, like muscle tissue. It’s a noninvasive technology called Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS) and it is FDA-cleared to strengthen, tone, and firm larger muscle groups.
CoolSculpting vs. EMSculpt/CoolTone Procedure Safety and Comfort
CoolSculpting is done in one treatment for permanent fat reduction in the area being treated. The treatments themselves can last anywhere from 2-6 hours depending on how many areas we are treating in a given appointment. The procedure can be a little uncomfortable (not painful) during the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes when the applicator is removed. Patients may feel like they did an intense workout to that area for about 1-2 weeks following treatment, but patients typically will go back to normal daily activities immediately.
EMSculpt is a series of 6, 30 minute treatments spread out between 3 weeks followed by regular maintenance treatments every 3-4 months after that to keep up with results. Overall, this treatment is very comfortable and not painful at all.
Both treatments work well for different reasons. This is why we offer patients a personalized consultation to see which one or which combination is best for you.
How Long Does CoolSculpting and EMSculpt or CoolTone Take To Work?
CoolSculpting and EMSculpt will start showing results at 1 month and patients can expect to see more change through 3-4 months.
Combining CoolSculpting and EMSculpt or CoolTone for Optimal Results
Using each treatment individually, patients will get the appropriate results from the treatment they choose. But when combining both treatment’s together, the results are often even better. If patients want to get the best possible outcome they can, we recommend doing both CoolSculpting and EMSculpt/CoolTone to optimize their results.
Body contouring Cost
Generally speaking, CoolSculpting treatment can cost anywhere between $1,500 and $5,300. The cost of EMSculpt is about $3,995 per package of each area treated. Our consultations give us an opportunity to examine the patient and find out which treatment is the best option and exactly how much it will cost before going through with treatment.
