Dysport works by treating moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity. Wrinkles are caused by repeated movements and muscle contractions, which means they can even develop in younger adults. One injection into each of the 5 points between and above the eyebrows temporarily prevents muscle contractions that cause frown lines, leaving the rest of your face to move naturally. In other words, no frozen look, just natural-looking results. You can control your facial expressions instead of worrying about your look controlling you.

During the procedure, your doctor or aesthetic specialist will inject Dysport at five different points around your forehead and eyebrows. You may use a topical anesthetic
Your doctor may apply topical anesthetic to prevent discomfort, but patients report that the procedure itself doesn’t feel very painful — more like pressure or pin-pricks. The procedure itself takes minutes
You will see results in as quickly as 1-2 days. Like any other filler or injection, the results aren’t permanent and you’ll need another appointment in 4-5 months to maintain smoothness in your brow area.
An added perk for Dysport injections is their potential to PREVENT forehead lines from getting deeper. In essence, the Dysport relaxes the muscles that are causing these dynamic lines and, because the muscle is now relaxed and is no longer creating the skin creases, these wrinkles actually tend to improve over time as opposed to deepening. That is why many of our Botox and Dysport patients start at a relatively young age with these products. In a way, they can be considered a facial preservation-type of treatment as opposed to a traditional “rejuvenation” treatment that is trying to treat something which is already present.
Your care team will monitor for any severe side effects, which are rare. The most common side effects are headache and inflammation or pain at the injection site.
Your care team will also offer follow-up instructions, just like they will after a DAXXIFY™ injection or a Sculptra injection. It’s best to avoid rubbing the injection site for at least two hours after your appointment and to avoid rigorous activity for a few hours (to prevent the botulinum toxins from shifting unnecessarily).

There may be very subtle differences between Botox and Dysport but overall they are both extremely safe and reliable and do a very nice job in facial rejuvenation when injected by experienced professionals.
The amount of Dysport or Botox used is highly customized dependent on the activity of the patient’s musculature, but typically 4 to 8 units are placed on each side to allow this muscle to relax and elevate the brows. More frequently I will use 10 to 12 units on each side to treat the entire crow’s feet area and by doing so this will not only improve the crow’s feet wrinkles, but also provide the brow elevation that is desired.
The manufacturer of Dysport will only sell its products to licensed medical professionals. That means if you see someone who’s not a medical provider, you are most likely not going to get the real deal. Counterfeit neurotoxins can be dangerous.
