If you are in the Milwaukee and Madison metro areas of Wisconsin and are looking for a rejuvenated look without a surgical procedure such as facelift surgery, brow lift or mini-lift, dermal fillers or Juvederm, may be your best option.
Juvederm is a smooth dermal filler gel made of hyaluronic acid, which your body naturally produces. Dr. Andrew Campbell and our licensed expert medical providers administer Juvederm under the skin to restore your skin’s volume and smooth out wrinkles to give you the fullness you want. Our experts can administer Juvederm in many different areas of the face. These areas include the lips and nasolabial folds (the lines between your nose and mouth).

How much bruising will there be with Juvéderm?
Typically, injections of Juvéderm do not cause any visible bruising. However, there may be a 10 percent or up to a 20 percent chance that bruising will occur with this type of injection and we do caution patients of this fact ahead of time. If bruising does occur, you should allow at least a few days for it to subside.
Otherwise, cover makeup can be applied immediately after the injection to hide any sort of redness or early bruising. Cold compresses before and after the procedure help as well.
Juvéderm FAQs
For patients who have had Juvederm lip fillers, we recommend following our Juvederm care instructions after their lip injection:
– Apply ice continuously for the first 45 minutes after the injection.
– Ice the lips on and off for an additional hour or so.
– Keep the head elevated for the first night to prevent any additional swelling.
– If early bruising occurs, we recommend applying Arnica Montana to reduce visible bruising.
Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane are usually injected with needles varying in size from a 30-gauge up to a 27-gauge needle. Certainly, if you are concerned about bruising, the injector can use various techniques to try to minimize any bruising such as using the smaller needle as well as a very slow injection technique, as it seems that the slower the injection, the less likely you are to bruise. We gathered a few strategies on our blog.
Due to the fact that Radiesse is calcium-based and relatively thick, it tends to create irregularities in the lips and will often migrate and become visible just below the mucosa. Juvéderm, on the other hand, is very smooth. It’s softer. It’s more gel-like. And when injected into the lips properly, it has a very natural feel and can give an extremely natural appearance to the lips. You can read more about Juvéderm® and Radiesse on our blog.
