In the aesthetic world, a lot of our patients say to us that they have wanted to come in for a long time, but they just felt that they were vain. It’s so cliche to say this, but people want to look as good as they feel. Our goal is just to make our patients look as natural as possible.
Things that surprise patients are the differences between Botox and Dysport and then fillers, because they really group all of those things together. Both Dysport and Botox are working on the dynamic movement of the face. Those two products will work on the muscles to relax them, so then you’re not able to make those expressions with such severity. It just helps to soften the lines then over time because Botox is preventative. So I’m going to clean the area.
The fillers, they aren’t working on the muscle. They’re just filling in a line or giving structure and support in the mid face. We often talk about our skin in terms of like a trampoline. And as we age that elastin that’s being stretched out, we need the filler then to give that support back.
What’s nice about the fillers, oftentimes is you do see some results right away, but it does take about two weeks to see the full result. Botox though, you start seeing the results after about three days up to two weeks to see the full effect of the Botox.
To me, rejuvenated confidence speaks volumes when the patients come in for their after pictures. Softening those lines just instantly gives them this confidence that they’ve been searching for.
