Question: I am 38, female, and I have heard of Juvéderm being used for a lot of different procedures: lip augmentation, wrinkle filling, nonsurgical nose job, etc. I am interested in augmenting my cheeks. Is that something Juvéderm can do?
Answer: Absolutely. I have used Juvéderm Ultra Plus in the cheeks on many occasions and it does a wonderful job of enhancing the area of the midface and cheek and what is nice about the injectable fillers over surgical implants is that they can be highly customized and can be used to augment and fill areas that facial implants would have a very difficult time of doing. The downside of fillers of course is that they are a temporary solution, but in the cheek area most of the thicker hyaluronic acid products will last approximately a year, so overall it tends to be a pretty good value. I do typically recommend that patients see a board certified facial plastic surgeon, so that all of your options can be discussed before making any decisions about facial rejuvenation.
