Question: I am 63 years old and a smoker and I have bleed lines around my lips. Does Botox or Dysport fix these wrinkles?
Answer: Botox and Dysport can certainly be used in the orbicularis oris muscle which is causing these smoker lines and can help soften the lines, but in my opinion typically comes at the price of some difficulties with drinking through a straw and most of my patients feel that the mouth is not working in a completely normal fashion and this tends to make them feel uneasy. Therefore most of my patients with smoker lines desire either filler injections or laser resurfacing to rid them of these problem wrinkles.
