Question: I got laser vein therapy a week ago for the spider veins on my legs. The doctor told me that any redness would disappear in the first few days. Since it has been a week, I have gotten concerned. What could prolonged redness after laser vein treatments mean?
Answer: Well, it could mean a countless number of different things and, due to that, I would recommend an evaluation by the professional who treated your leg veins. Certainly, my biggest concern would be if you were having any sort of an inflammatory or infectious type of change to the area and would be concerned that you may have early cellulitis if you still have redness. This would typically be rather tender and, if this is nontender, it may just be related to the vein treatment and will slowly disappear, but I would recommend an evaluation by the professional who treated you so that any appropriate treatment can be provided if that would be necessary.
