Question: Is microdermabrasion just a single procedure? Is a chemical peel used for this or a machine?
Answer: By definition the microdermabrasion is actually a mechanical removal of the very superficial layer of the skin and is performed using a machine either with crystals or with a diamond-embedded wand. I personally feel that the diamond-embedded wand is a much easier, cleaner, and more effective way to treat the skin with microdermabrasion. Chemicals can be used in conjunction with the microdermabrasion to create a more intense effect. It really just depends on the patient’s skin condition and their expectations.
