Question: What can microdermabrasion be used to treat?
Answer: Microdermabrasion is best at treating the dull texture of the skin as well as some mild pigmentation issues. Since microdermabrasion does not go deep into the skin and does not have any downtime there are limitations on what the treatment can actually treat, but it is certainly very efficient at improving the overall glow of the skin and reflective qualities of the skin by getting rid of the dull, dead layer of skin on the surface. It also helps pharmaceutical grade skin care products to penetrate so that they are more affective at improving a patient’s skin texture and discolorations. I feel that microdermabrasion is really a maintenance type of a treatment and we recommend that patients have them on a regular basis to promote overall good skin health.
